Wow, Thanks thats a lot of good info. I kinda feel a 750 maybe small also but we will probably be riding on weekends mostly I am really turned on by the looks and sounds of the V-twin I suppose I will have to move up bigger when we start riding more which I am really siked up for.
Getting say a honda shadow 750 is not the same thing as getting a GSXR 750. Other options that look either retro or super cool and make good starter bikes
It all depends how much you care about your bike and how long you plan to keep it. I just got a 2013 Honda Phantom, changed the oil @ 5 miles with amsoil formula 4-stroke. plan to change it again @ 300 miles, then 600 miles, then every 1000 miles after that. I plan on keeping the bike indefinitely, so it gets only the best.
Shadow 750 is a good beginner bike, can’t go wrong with Honda, but that’s way too much. That’s only a few hundred less than I paid for my 05 vxt1800 and it was in flawless condition. Reply
In looking at motorbikes it looks like the Honda Shadow 750 is a good choice for a starter bike. I looked at one in the Honda showroom the other day and it was larger than I expected. Although I am a large man I have to admit the size and weight of these machines intimidates me somewhat. I have absolutely no motorcycle riding experience and at age 50 I figure if I don’t get with it soon I
84 Honda shadow 700/750 starting problems. So I purchased this bike last year, I wish I could say I got it for a good price. After thinking whether I should sell it and cut my losses or fix it up myself, I decided to keep it. My first issue is getting it started. It wont start under it's own power, it has to be jumped.
Safety for a beginning Rider is at the heart of the design of this little baby. If you are a new rider, buy a 250 cc bike of some kind. I am familiar with the Rebel, so I will give you a rundown of its capabilities. 1) The Rebel has plenty of power for city driving.
The Honda Shadow 750 is recommended as a good starting bike, how much different is the Intruder? This site recommends starting with 600cc or less, so I’m also thinking of starting with a Vulcan or Honda shadow 500, then when I retire in a few years going to a larger bike – I’m looking mainly for highway cruising. So, the questions are: For that kind of duty, the VF700C Magna is a great bike. According to the Comprehensive Vintage Motorcycle Price Guide 2015-2016, a 1985 Honda VF700C could bring about $3,100 in condition 1 YrXL.
