It overblown anyways. Shutter count doesn't mean that much. They are "tested"' for 100,000. It doesn't mean they can't do lots more. Abuse is bad for a camera. Use is not. Also, canon repairs have fixed classes. The highest one in only about $300. So the worst that can happen is you get a new shutter. The reason I paid $2.99 for the ShutterCount app was so I could keep track of the count past 1 million so I know when to replace the shutter again. I put about 500,000 to 750,000 shots/year on my 1D's (I have 4 and often I have other photographers use them on a weekly basis).

03-03-2015 09:00 AM. The only way to get an accurate shutter count, or actuations- on Canon EOS DSLR bodies is to have the Canon Factory Service Center provide it. They need to have the camera on hand in order to run the test to get an accurate measurement on your camera's shutter.
